Dainty illustrations and watercolor hues allude to the playful and picturesque qualities of this endearing narrative.  The story follows Ashlyn on an emotional journey as she discovers that heartache is often reversed by an extension of love - or, as it is so charmingly shared here - the filling of a heart vacancy.  Many readers will be able to reminisce on the pure joy of being united with their own furry friends as Ashlyn adopts the fluffy and mischievous Sabine.  Approachable expressions of longing, sadness, adoption, and healing all find a place in this children’s story which is sure to hold a treasured place on your shelf.

About the Author

Ashlyn Bowden is a baker, maker, and story-crafter residing in the historic city of Williamsburg, Virginia.  Ashlyn began “writing” children’s books for herself and her siblings before she could even spell, and her love for literature, particularly children’s literature, has only grown since.  She is an avid cook and baker who believes that the simplest moments are the most worthy of celebration. Ashlyn is fanatically passionate about many things, but most notably; her faithful and fluffy best friend, Sabine - a miniature Bernedoodle, her husband Josh - who loves eating as much as Ashlyn loves baking, and her baby girl Eivelyn - who has not been around for very long but makes Ashlyn’s heart explode with the largest of loves every single day.
